Team Meeting

In studio class this week, our team discussed with our tutors the progress of our project. During this meeting we went through what we were doing at this present time and what we planned to do in the last 2 weeks of the assignment. Our project has a heavy importance on our design. Unlike the other teams, our piece of architecture functions much like monument and an attraction rather than a building of business or commercial use. The direction of our design must therefore accurately represent what the original architect Boullee was trying to portray. Every element must be scrutinsed so that the context and essence of the building can be represented successfully. The meeting outlined how our design could improve in particular areas. Some very productive feedback was given to our team and we noted down every point. Inspired to work on it as soon as possible. Pui Pui and myself arranged to meet the following day to start working on the improved design modifications.

Some of the key features that needed to be addressed in our design were:

  • Create the main Cenotaph entrance stairs
  • Reduce planter boxes on all floors
  • Create slab underneath building
  • Reduce wdiths of angled slopes
  • Create inner half of dometo result in a full sphere
  • Create Pyramid stairs on first level platform
  • Change entrance opening (semicircle shape)
  • Create entrance opening in pyramid stairs
  • Change texture of "wooden rafters"
  • Develop correct texture/materials
